Prior to moving to Europe, Quinn and I decided to visit the Florida Keys, as this was always a place I had wnated to see and experience.  Once there, we decided perhaps we had bitten off a bit more than we could chew.  Let me start by saying that being the adventurers that we are, we decided to “rough it,” save money and enjoy a camping experience.  We had visions of waking up in our tent on a beautiful sandy beach with the gentle sounds of the ocean lapping the shore.  So much for that…

We soon discovered that camping in Florida in the middle of Auhgust was a bit more adventure than we were used to and in fact, was downright miserable! We had to constantly change ice out of coolers, take breaks and see in the AC of the car and sleeping?   UGH!

We also learned a valuable lesson…. living on the road is a completely different thing then vacationing on the road!

It took us half of the day just to live and survive, wifi sucked and we couldn’t work and the heat made us want to chew each other’s faces off!  It was hot AF and this was not a good decision…

I was at the point of a melt down and yelled, “I hate camping!  I am never camping again!”  Quinn, with his pro-active personality, decided enough was enough!  He cancelled the next night of camping, found a super nice AirBnb in Key West and then went around the campground and literally gave all of our camping equipment away!  The next thing I knew I was in an air conditioned room in Key West and everything was wonderful!  From this point forward we are not trying to save money by camping!  It’s the AirBnb life for me!
