Sometimes when you’re traveling you want to see all of the sites, explore the magnificant beaches or sit for a drink at a beach front restaurant.    Sometimes though, you just have to work.   So it was for us in Olhao…  we had a wonderful time in Sintra but basically got no work done and we were in desperate need to catch up!

So, we booked at quaint city house from a frenchman named Norbert where we could hide out and just work and live!  We spent our days hanging out on the rooftop patio working away on our computers in the hot Algharve sun.  It was glorious.   It was also here where we were able to slow down and start making plans for our next destination.  Stay tuned for South Africa!

We took breaks from work and strolled down the maze of cobblestone streets and quickly found our favorite local hangouts.  One place that was particularly good was a workman’s cafe Norbert had told us about.  You got a beautifully cooked hot meal, wine, coffee and desert for 6 Euros!  Needless to say the place was packed, nobody spoke a lick of English and we were stared at like we were in the circus….  but it was an incredible experience!  By the end of our stay we were starting to feel a little more local!

It was also a super coool little city with a ton of street art and cool little places to hangout!

We also were able to break away and spend a little bit of time down at the beautiful waterfront we had heard so much about:

It was a peaceful stay and we’ve promised Norbert we will be back in the summer to check out those Islands!
