Morning came early in Sarasota, Florida and we had so much to do before our flight! We were so excited…. finally the day had come.. we were moving to Spain!   All along, the dreaming and planning had seemed somewhat surreal, “Will this ever really happen?” and “Can we really do this?”  Well… we did it!

I’m writing this from Barcelona, Spain right now where we are staying in an old Catalonian style house designed by Diego and Sarah!  It is so beautiful and simple and it makes our hearts content.  As we exit the home, we enter into a square filled with bars, coffeeshops and places for the locals to hang out and mingle.  It’s a place that is full from the wee hours of the morning until the faint hours of the lat straggling group of wine imbued friends.  We’re taking a few days here to just enjoy the city… and each other… it’s been a long hard journey and a big lifestyle change for us… we’re ready to just chill.   Unfortunately, the universe has other plans…

We spend an amazing 2 days in Barcelona!  We met some beautiful French friends currently living in the Netherlands (Hola Agathe and Marie!), we toured the Gothic Quarter, saw the Bishop’s bridge, enjoyed Vinos Tintos and Tapas and had a blast!  We also learned a lot about the Catalonian culture and met so many wonderful, proud people who shared their culture with us!  It was heaven!

However… we were not without our share of problems!  We found it was much harder to get to our vilage near Granada then we expected!  We looked at trains, a bus, flying on a plane and finally settled on renting a car and making the 8.5 hour drive ourselves!  We were nervous but honestly, it was the best decision we could have made!  It was an absolutely strikingly beautiful drive through the countryside of Andulausia…. village after village…. mountain range after mountain range….  it seemed that with every km of elvation our hearts became more peaceful and content…. what a wonderful experience!

As it was reaching dark we finally reached our new home in Narila, Spain!  We drove 1 km up into the mountains from Cadiar to our tiny village of Nadir.  The streets were so narrow that literally there were 2 inches on either side of the car!  But we finally made it, got into our house and walked out on our Terrace overlooking these Andualsians mountains…and it was dark…let’s see what it looks like en la Manana.  Adios mis amigos!
