As we returned from our camping adventure in the Florida Keys we stopped over in North Miami for the night to clean up and bask in the AC of an AirBnb.

We found an adorable private room in the home of George and Miriam which had a pool and a couple of Tiki Huts and knew that would be perfect. As we arrived that evening to their beautiful home we were greated by George, an exuberant, talkative man with a wonderfully warm smile! He showed us around the home, made us feel completely at ease and introduced us to his neice, a doctoral student here studying from Columbia. We had a wonderful dinner and George hung out with us a bit and told us some stories of his travels and life. He finally got to Miriam…

We were immensely touched as he told us the story of his wife Miriam who had designed the entire home with the vision was an absolutely glorious place!of entertaining and hosting. With tears in his eyes he shared how she had passed away but that he had continued on with the dream and to this day he runs the Airbnb, George and Miriam, in honor of his wife.

It is simply amazing to us everytime we meet someone new and share meals, enjoy conversation and hear one anothers stories. Thank you for the inspiration George!
