We will be starting off our journey in the same place that we will be ending it one year later, Santiago de Compostela, the ending point of the Camino de Santiago! We’re going to be seeing the final destination before we start and doing some interviews with pilgrims who are just finishing their Camino!

We love the beach as you know and so Rachel wants to spend her birthday month in the sunny Grecian Isles! We’re looking at Santorini or somewhere near there and we want to spend the whole month exploring these beautiful islands as well as the mainland of Greece. It will be amazing to walk in the footsteps of history!

Croatia is one of the most affordable and bueautiful locations in all of Europe and we’re excited to spend the winter there. We will be venturing over to Italy a bit as well as getting to know the Croatian coast. We also plan on spending some time travelling over to Romania via Slovenia and of course Budapest!
Venice, Italy

We’ve heard one of the best Carnivals in the world is in Venice and so we’re going to see for ourselves! Every year this festival is held to celebrate Fat Tuesday and usher in Ash Wednesday, the beginning of Lent. It’s one of the oldest festivals annually celebrated in the world and has been going on since 1162!
Ireland
March
Ireland for St. Patrick’s Day! Could there be anything better? Quinn will be singing the pub songs and reliving his time fronting an Irish band! We’ll also be travelling throughout Ireland and visiting the places our families come from. This will be a great leg of the journey to join us on!

March/April
It’s a social media meet up! We’re super excited to spend spring with our friends from the UK. We will be staying in England for the month of March and part of April and venturing out to meet folks in London, Newcastle, as well as exploring Scotland and Northern Ireland. We can’t wait to meet y’all in person and share a hug and a drink!
Paris, France
End of April
Springtime in Paris! Ahh, the dream…. We’ll be exploring the romantic city of Paris for a couple of weeks and then venturing out to Northernwestern France. We’re excited to see Normandy and can’t wait to visit Mont-Saint-Michel Abbey, a magical island topped by a gravity-defying medieval monastery!
Provence, France
May
I read “A Year in Provence” when I was 19 years old and it sparked a lifetime desire for travel. 33 years later I’ll finally make it to Provence and I couldn’t be more estactic! We’re looking forward to a quiet early summer in the beautiful south of France!
Pamplona, Spain
June
We can’t visit Europe without going to Pamplona and the famous Running of the Bulls! We won’t be running but we plan to enjoy the San Fermin festival as we get ready to start our Camino de Santiago trek next month. We’ll be training and making last miniyte preparations as well as using this month to figure what’s next for us!
Camino de Santiago
July/August
We’ve elected to do the French Way of the Famouse Camino de Santiago pilgrage which stretches almost 800km and will take us close to 2 months to hike! We plan on taking it slowly and savorying every part of this epic pilgrimage by ending our year in Europe at the “Ends of the earth.” Buen Camino!
